A quick post to get something off my chest (and to please our webmaster it would seem ;D)
Why is there a godless club on campus?
This question was raised by someone in a conversation I overheard the other night, and is something we're often asked, so I thought I'd write a public note as to why we exist.
Well, put simply our founding president (Ash) realised there were all sorts of clubs that catered for everyone on campus, except one for godless people. So he started one.
The club exists so that like-minded people can socialise and talk about/debate different points of view, and above all, to have fun.
We're not about antagonising or offending people, nor are we a bunch of raving lunatics. We're a tolerant and pleasant bunch (on the whole ;P) who thought It'd be nice to get together once in a while for funs tuff like pubcrawls and social events.
So thats why really, cos we can and cos we want to :)
So really you should join :) go on, you won't believe the wonders that await you if you do...

Re: Why we (as a club) exist.
Perhaps that's part of our problem - we don't really have a clear focus other than 'let's socialise'. I'm not saying we need to go out and prosletyse, but I think we need to do a few more things that actually focus on atheism and ideas about it.

Re: Why we (as a club) exist.
You'd think atheists would be the easiest people to get to understand why godless exists, but I (as an atheist and antitheist) really wasn't motivated to join until I found out there was a pastafarian themed pubcrawl. Suprisingly, it was the adoration of a satirical deity that attracted me rather than a lack of belief in "real" deities. Take note, if you want more members, pirates and flying pasta are the proper means to advertise :3
